Meet our Founder

In 2010 Sharon elected to develop and launch her own business, one that is deeply connected to her hometown of Austin. Sharon’s experience as a volunteer day chair (shift manager) at the non-profit Assistance League of Austin's leading thrift store from 2000-2010 gave her great experience in the resale industry. Sharon manages Little Green Beans and sets the culture that stands for providing exceptional customer service like one finds in a boutique. Little Green Beans aims to be a truly a warm and family-friendly experience.
Sharon cares deeply about the welfare of young children and designed Little Green Beans to be a For-Benefit business, helping local non profits with outreach and enabling the donation of many goods for use by those who are in need. Little Green Beans is an early member of ChangeMyTown.org, a collection of For Benefit Businesses.
In the Spring of 2012, Sharon developed The Advanced Maternal Age Project providing support to women and is conducting sociological research among women who have chosen to start a family at age 35 or later.
She lives in Austin with her husband and three young children.
Meet Julia from Our Team
"I am a mom to a 3-year old girl and a native of Northern Germany. moved to Austin in late 2011 from California and joined the Little Green Beans Team in November 2012 when my daughter started preschool. The flexible working schedule, ability to share my ideas for the business, and our relationships with our customers and consignors are just a few of the things I like about Little Green Beans.
It was also important to me to work in a smaller local business where it is possible to get to know people and their families. I am also a customer and consignor myself, and love the great deals, especially at my daughter's active and picky age where clothes never make it very long. Since the store is purely consignment, we are able to rotate our inventory more frequently and keep a fresh flow of top brands from around the world."

"Little Green Beans is my favorite place to shop and consign! You can get amazing deals and it's also a great way to get some extra money on the toys and clothes your children aren't using anymore. The store is classy and the owner is wonderful and friendly."
-Jamie L.
"I love consigning at Little Green Beans because they are locally owned, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff is so friendly. I've been bringing my children's clothes there for about one year and have earned more than $500! I also love shopping there and have found some really cute, unique styles for my little ones."
-Nicole U.
“Little Green Beans (LGB) is a great, affordable place to shop for children's clothing! As a consignor, I am able to make enough money to pay for both my kids' wardrobe every season! Thanks LGB! Congrats on your first years' success with LGB! I am truly happy for you!”
-Mackenzie W.
“I make no apologies for buying my daughter clothes--that's part of the fun! It also helps when I can buy her more clothes after giving Little Green Beans the best stuff, admittedly some still have tags on it. Like mother like daughter but the owner Sharon has great taste--it's a different experience than other resale stores--completely different."
-Annie J.
“Consigning with Little Green Beans has been a very positive experience for me. I have earned money from the things my kids no longer need and I have extended their usefulness with another family. There is so much waste when it comes to kids so I feel good about trying to reduce it a little bit. It has also been good to find things that I only used for a short time and then consigned again - like an almost-new 'exersaucer' for my baby boy or tap shoes for my 4 year-old girl. If you buy from Little Green Beans and then re-consign with them, those things end up only costing a few dollars in the long run. I consign high quality items, many from Europe (where I'm from), and I've noticed that Little Green Beans stocks great brands like Baby Bjorn or Dwell Baby at hugely reduced prices.”
-Charlotte D.
